This is a view from the windows of the Newport Aquarium. The irony is this is how so many see Cincinnati of late, Northern Kentucky has taken the lead in Ohio Riverfront entertainment spots.

The Union Terminal building houses the Cincinnati History Museum, The Children’s Museum, The Museum of Natural History and Science and the Omnimax Theater. For visitors and natives this is a wonderful place to spend a day!

I found this on a church grounds. It made me think how single image can have many meanings. To some this is a symbol ment to scare slaves crossing this river to hide in Ohio. To others it was a rope kids would climb and hold on while a friend would swing them back and forth. Our challenge is to leave room for different perspectives.

The Cincinnati Observatory was the first observatory in the USA. The cornerstone was placed by John Quincy Adams, former President of the United States in 1843.

Work on Union Terminal started 1929 and was completed on March 31, 1933. In 2008 this classic Art Deco style building celebrated 75th birthday with special events and record attendance.

The Architect for "The Ascent" was Daniel Libeskind, with a great idea to curve the structure to enable the maximum view of the Ohio River. Everything about this building lifts the view toward the sky.

Here are the Procter and Gamble Towers 1 and 2 with glass walkways connecting them. These buildings are 17 stories tall and were completed in 1985. There is a beautiful garden surrounding an open lawn open to the public.

There are so many beautiful statues and markers in Spring Grove Cemetery. This one with a mix of classic and art deco seems to move with the clouds behind it.

This is the Dexter Memorial located near the front entrance to Spring Grove Cemetery. Built in 1855 it is a wonderful example of the Gothic Revival architecture from that time period.

I love the Tyler-Davidson Fountain. It reminds me of the best Cincinnati can be: in art, in celebration and in mourning.. this fountain has been the heart of Cincinnati.

The view from Mount Adams is one of the best for the eastern skyline of Cincinnati. This tree makes for a nice juxtaposition of nature and city.

George Grey Barnard's Abraham Lincoln statue stands at the Lytle Park entrance. The statue was given to the city by Charles Taft, president Taft's brother in 1917. Here he views the eastern skyline at sunrise.

It was odd to find downtown Hamilton so quiet in the middle of the day. This was a holiday and I took the short drive from Cincinnati to see this town I hadnt seen in years. It has grown but still has its charm.

Taken at the Otto Armleder Memorial Park. This new park has a wonderful play area for dogs, walking and biking trails and a canoe landing on the Little Miami River. The park is located close to the Lunken Airport.

Cincinnati lost an insightful young artist in July 08. Katie Reider grew up in a musical family. Her father Rob was a musician on the Bob Braun show based in Cincinnati during the 1970-80's .. Katie began singing in local coffee houses while still in high school. Her talent as a songwriter and singer grew as did her following. ..Cincinnati will remember her grace in song..
